Actress and youngest producer in the world, Marsai Martin is already setting her calendar to take over the silver screen in 2020. The teen, who inked a first-look deal earlier this year with Universal, is working on a feature comedy called Queen through her company Genius Productions.
Details of the upcoming project are currently under wraps but the The Hollywood Reporter reports that Fresh Off the Boat writer Camilla Blackett will executive produce and write the script for the feature comedy.
Martin’s first project as a producer was a huge success! The actress starred alongside Regina Hall and Issa Rae in Little a “Devil Wears Prada-esque” comedy about an overbearing business woman who transforms into her younger self. The film grossed over $40.8 million worldwide on a $20 million budget.
Martin is also set to produce the adaptation of Amari and the Night Brothers, a yet-to-be published contemporary real-world fantasy that follows the journey of a Black girl as she discovers her hidden powers.
