More stars join the cast of the upcoming series.
Actresses Niecy Nash (Claws), Aunjanue Ellis (Quantico), Kylie Bunbury (Pitch), Marsha Stephanie Blake (Crown Heights), and Storm Reid (A Wrinkle in Time) are all joining the cast of Ava DuVernay’s upcoming Netflix series based on the notorious Central Park Five case.
The limited four-episode Netflix series chronicles the case of five black teens from Harlem who were wrongfully accused and convicted of a rape in 1989 and later exonerated in 2014.
The latest additions to the cast will be playing the mothers of Korey Wise (Nash, Delores Wise); Yusef Salaam (Ellis, Sharone Salaam); Antron McCray (Blake, Linda McCray); while Bunbury will be playing Angie Richardson, the sister of Kevin Richardson; and Reid will play Lisa, a friend of Korey Wise.
They will join previously cast stars Michael K. Williams, Vera Farmiga, John Leguizamo, Felicity Huffman, Jharrel Jerome and Jovan Adepo.
The series is set to debut on Netflix in 2019.
