But this evening will bring more with the release of Corinne Bailey Rae’s third album, The Heart Speaks in Whispers. Filled with sultry jazz rhythms and pop standards Rae will have you swinging between dancing cheek to cheek and stretching out in an imagined meadow reminiscing about forgotten moments and past conversations.
The Heart Speaks in Whispers will appeal to a wide-range of listeners. The 16-track (deluxe edition) album is a diverse collection with themes of celebrating new love and healing. Fans who shied away from Rae’s raw grief-filled 2010 album The Sea will find a return of the Rae we fell in love in 2006’s self-titled album–a Rae with more depth who croons in “Hey, I Won’t Break Your Heart”, creates a pop anthem with “Tell Me”, and melds jazz and funk in “Horse Print Dress” much like the legendary Prince.
